This was a great book. I found this text very useful in managing the EB patients I have encountered in the past two years as a medical resident. The book was very comprehensive, detailed and relevant to the clinical management of patients with this complicated and serious disease.

This book is an in-depth look at the development of one quilt artist, Erika Carter. In the introduction on page 6 Rick Gottas of the American Art Company says, "Few works of art are more satisfying to see installed than Erika Carter's fine art quilts." Behind these words is a picture of a gallery show revealing four of Erika's quilts. The effect is amazing, more beautiful to the eye than almost any gallery show I have attended.
Erika's style is incredibly painterly in style, to the point where on her latest quilts I have to look hard to see how she's achieved her results with fabric. Her designs are colorful, but as the years go by they become progressively more subtle. It's fascinating to watch as she moves from traditional patchwork to strips of trapezoids, delicate lines suggesting trees and grass until her most recent and incredibly delicate work with the softest of colors.
Although the book contains no how-to instructions, any quilter interested in art quilts will gather ideas. This is the sort of book to keep by the bed or bath, to study at leisure.

It an excellent book for all veterinary medicine students as well as DVM.The style is very simple which is important for every book of such nature( in other words you don't have to read it again and again just to understand what authors wanted to say).Bacteria chapter is specially well written although Fungi and Introductory virology don't lack far behind.Speaking as veterinary medicine student I would like to see more photos. As students usually listen to Infectious diseases after microbiology it wouldn't be bad to put a photo of animal having certain disease so students can connect the two(microorganism and the disease)more easily.Pathogenesis is described for every microorganism but at this level students don't always understand it completely. Although it's not extremelly detailed it containts everything from morphology,immunity, serology,treatment,disease,identification etc. If you don't plan to specialize microbiology it's everything you need to know.

This book depicts the history of sacrifice to God through works of art. It starts in the Old Testament sacrafice of the Levitical priests through the sacrifice of Jesus and the Mass. It includes images of paintings and artifacts demonstrating how sacrifice was performed, the importance of it and how it has transformed into the Eucharist. Along with the pictures, there are Biblical references giving a well-articulated apologetical explanation of the sacrifice of the Mass. A beautiful book.

I believe a key to the quality of "European Reformations" (ER) is the use of the plural in the title which is followed up in text. Lindberg has an ability to convey ideas, concepts, etc. better than most authors especially in this complex subject area of religious and socio-political change. Even if one has no significant familiarity with the often called "Reformation," you will quickly gain valuable insights as well as understanding that might not be as easily seen in the works of other authors. It certainly will prompt one to pursue further study as one realizes the various impacts on the world which are still evident today. It certainly makes quite clear that the reformation of church, politics and culture began well before the 16th century. The interaction of characters, events, and the reformations is more clearly explained than in other works within the same genre. Another factor that makes this book an excellent read and resource is that the author clarifies quite a few things that other books fail to do. An example is the "Peasants War." People often have a concept that those involved were of one class, the poorest of the poor. This is not so and is explained well by Lindberg.

This book is of benefit to read for anyone irrespective of their religious beliefs if only for the social and historical perspectives it provides and clarifies.

I just recommended this book to a friend only to find that he had read it three times already and has been a doctoral student of the author. "ER" is certainly worth purchasing and making part of your personal library.

This coming of age book is one that all women (and men) should discover and read. I must admit. When I first saw this title on my wife's book, I was a bit disgusted. I had read many of her Cosmopolitan magazines, but none prepared me for this! But i have changed since then. Let me tell you men, if your thinking about a "romantic" night out with a loved one, use this as a primer. Trust me, you'll thank me later. It was thrilling to read this sensuous book, especially the twenty-fifth chapter. Heck! I'd buy it just for that! Vivid word pictures and excessive use of connotation lace this glorious book together to make it one outstanding read!

141 pages filled with color photographs and fairly easy to follow directions make this a very handy book for making beautiful floral decorations. There are floral garlands, wreaths, Christmas trees and more. There are fruit and vegetable garlands and wreaths with color photos that actually make it seem like an attractive alternative to flowers, flowers, flowers! But it is the flowers and the photos that make the book a must have for anyone interested in making gorgeous floral displays.

I hardly know where to begin. Like the Boys' and Girls' Handybooks, this hefty little book is full of ideas from a bygone era. Written in 1906, the activities are not always the kind of things our kids can do today...but this is a book of IDEAS! While you might not want to camp in a swamp, this book will tell you how. That information might come in useful for another project someday. The book also has historical value--the vocabulary is sometimes quite dated--but that's part of the fun!

Other ideas from the book, which is organized by season: Kites, herbarium, quail farming, bird houses, cages, aquaria, carts, rafts, boats, camping, indoor ideas, outdoor cooking, sleds, packs, and so much more. Oh, and DO learn how to cook a muskrat!

Lord Dunsany was a master of fantasy, who wrote even before Tolkien. And nobody has really written like him since. His works are often like mingled prose and poetry; sometimes they have a storyline, sometimes not. Sometimes they are fantasy, sometimes not ("Roses").

Many of the stories in this book are more like vignettes than true stories. Some, such as "Charon" and "The Death of Pan" are inspired by mythology. They star ghosts, heroes, dreaming kings, nameless poets, Time and Death. And all are written in Dunsany's dreamy prose, which momentarily causes the world to melt away and lets the reader see what he saw.

This is an amazing short story collection. Buy it and read one of the fifty-one every day.
